The Injection Procedure
At Gaur Skin Clinic, we use micro-fine needles to deliver precise medical management for cystic flare-ups.
When is it recommended?
- Blind Pimples: Deep, painful acne nodules that don't come to a head.
- Inflamed Cysts: Small to medium sebaceous or epidermoid cysts that have suddenly swollen.
- Keloids: Thick, raised scars (Kenacort breaks down the dense collagen).
Note: If you have a massive, chronic cyst that requires deep surgical dissection, we will safely refer you to a hospital surgeon. We focus on minor clinical cysts and acne nodules.
How it works
Dr. Manali assesses the depth and severity of the lesion. A highly diluted solution of Kenacort (specifically measured for your skin type to prevent skin thinning) is drawn into an ultra-fine insulin syringe. The medicine is injected directly into the core of the cyst. You feel a quick pinch, similar to a mosquito bite, and it's over in seconds.
What to Expect
The pain and throbbing usually begin to subside within 12 hours. By 24-48 hours, the cyst will visibly flatten. In many cases, it resolves completely. If a small, painless sac remains after a few weeks, it can then be evaluated for minor excision if desired.
